Robert Madej
President
Robert Madej is President and a founding partner of PureFacts Financial Solutions. His mission is to build a world-class organization that delivers superior value to its clients and support an engaging work environment within which employees can readily fulfill their potential. His effective leadership is rooted in his in-depth understanding of key roles within the organization, having performed as Software Developer, Business Analyst, Project Manager and Vice President at various periods since the company's founding in 1997.
Long considered a preeminent expert in Financial Services technologies,
Mr. Madej's recent interests include software development practices, performance calculation analysis, performance attribution, fixed income mathematics, and database optimization.
An accomplished runner, Mr. Madej has completed over twenty marathons including runs in Montreal, Toronto, Boston and Philadelphia. He has also run two ultra marathons, successfully completing the 50-mile distance in the Haliburton Forest run in 9.5 hours.
Mr. Madej holds a Masters degree in Pure Mathematics, specializing in Number Theory, from the University of Waterloo.
Richard Pooran
Vice President
Mr. Pooran joined PureFacts in 1998 as a Software Developer and later assumed the role of Business Analyst. In 2001 he was made Vice President and partner. Today Mr. Pooran leads PureFacts business development and client relationship management initiatives. He is an experienced financial industry executive with a keen analytical insight and a gift for explaining complex issues in plain language. Also, Mr. Pooran champions a user-centric design approach to PureFacts' software development methodology, always striving to clarify intricate workflows and business processes.
Prior to joining PureFacts Financial Solutions, Mr. Pooran taught mathematics at Lower Canada College in Montreal, Quebec. Mr. Pooran is currently a board member of Scientists in School where he devotes his time to inspiring an excitement for science and technology in children of all ages.
Mr. Pooran holds a Bachelor of Mathematics in Statistics from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Western Ontario.
Garth Olsen
Chief Operating Officer
As Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Olsen is responsible for the day-to-day
operations of the company, including resource deployment and strategy, as well as financial and administrative management. Mr. Olsen joined PureFacts in 2006 as a Project Manager and he continues to be instrumental in the client service process where he plays a key role in delivering projects and ensuring that clients' service expectations are either met or exceeded.
Prior to joining PureFacts, Mr. Olsen was a partner with Structured Analytics, an asset management company. His role was to design and implement model trading systems for use in the day-to-day management of institutional-size investment portfolios.
Mr. Olsen has been working in the financial services industry since 1993 and holds a Bachelor of Mathematics in Statistics from the University of Waterloo.
